The oil change isn’t difficult on the current gen. :P

That’s relative. Consider an Audi Quattro with a DOHC V8 in the nose, and the EJ20 flat-4 is practically nothing...

Low COG *and* low MOI (when mounted longitudinally and mated to an AWD longitudinal transaxle). Plus perfect primary and secondary balance not requiring hp-sapping balancer shafts or counterweights. It’s an inherently smooth engine.

Straight-6 is for an Autobahn cruiser where that long MOI promotes stability. But it’s

It’s $14k, which is a lot of money. It’s on a trailer. It’s old. It’s British. And it’s neither roadster nor fast.

OMG, I found the not-white person!

So, he was tested as much as Lance Armstrong?

The one good thing is that this happened in California. She deliberately broke the Voyeur law, clearly had malicious intent, and she publicly admitted that she did it.

Actually, automatic drive is a yes/no proposition. Either you have a responsible (and liable) human in control, or you don’t.

As if Obama’s got the balls to do anything...

I understand Erdogan was the first to blame this attack on the Kurds...

I only benefit from Tesla in the sense that it removes a bad actor from the stage. But good on you Tesla dick-suckers for having to insinuate that there’s some sort of ulterior motive.

The people developing autopilot need to ensure that it conforms to what people consider safe driving. If the car appears unsafe, to the point that the driver has to manually brake (turning off autopilot), then the fault still lies with autopilot, not the user.

Of course Elon claims that. He has never taken responsiblity for anything going wrong.

For all we know, Autopilot is designed switch itself off the instant before impact, simply so that Elon can make these kinds of claims.

More likely, the Autopilot appeared unsafe, causing the driver to instinctively hit the brakes...

Your van is way too small. You actually lost space in the process.

Tesla Van should be bigger than a Sienna, not smaller than a 1st gen Odyssey.

The best part are the guts of it - planetary gearset!

Quite frankly, I do not understand why the US and EU don’t harmonize requirements. Nor do I understand why they don’t provide reciprocity. If a car passes US requirements, it should be salable in the EU. And vice versa. It’s not like either of those are inadequate standards to hold a carmaker, especially now that

As opposed to the guys that might as well have put training wheels on their motorcycles?

Now, let’s watch them swim like a hippopotamus!

Actually, it’s the opposite. If anybody claims (i.e. “alleges”) a defect, Tesla is obliged to provide the information.

Indeed. This is one of the few things that NHTSA DOT actually has some passion for doing. If look forward to NHTSA doing a Corvair job on Tesla.
