OMG THANKS FOR ASKING.
OMG THANKS FOR ASKING.
I’m torn. On one hand I like the message, calm, collected, nice sentiment. On the other hand I am screaming , “OMG KILL IT, KILL IT WITH FIRE!!”
Vacations last way longer than mouth stuff, and wouldn’t that also include GIVING mouthstuff and receiving bad mouthstuff? I’d rather go to Cabo for a 3-day weekend.
#NoTagging !!!
This is just what Jolander (as Danielle Schneider calls her) needs.
They spent $51k on a wedding and couldn’t shell out another $1,500 for his own flesh and blood to be there? That is maybe the biggest outrage of this entire thing. Actually, no, it’s the dress for sure.
I’ve never understood this about weddings. Anyone can feel free to come at me, but I’ve always thought it was incredibly tacky and fucking rude to make your bridesmaids shell out for dresses, the bachelorette party, the shower. It’s YOUR wedding. Maybe I understand if you’re doing something less that 10k and its…
On Watch What Happens Live, both Katie and Tom noted that she paid for the flowers which I thought was weird because they’ve lived together forever and were getting married so maybe make mutual decisions on big purchases.
Wow, that last one is a GREAT question which did not even occur to me.
All this season has established is that if a puzzle piece doesn’t fit, just shove it in and throw your hands up triumphantly because you just finished that puzzle.
I have the nasty suspicion that a high percentage of successful, self-made businesspeople are sociopaths. I also suspect that the drive to be famous - not to pursue professions like acting that sometimes lead to fame, but the desire for the fame part of it on its own - is something generally seen in people with a…
Because they’re sociopaths—err, CEOs.
but they are often picked over Black Americans because of the comfort that white Americans have with them when they open their mouths and a British accent comes out.
Fuck, that is a travesty. He was so good in Selma. It is so difficult to play such an iconic figure who is so well known for his timbre and cadence and avoid coming off as doing an impersonation.
Yeah, I was going to say. I lived in England for years, every black brit I met had the same dialect as any other British person in relation to their upbringing, and the generalization that the majority of black British people were raised in council flat housing/poverty is absolutely absurd and offensive.
I’m from the UK and live in the US. It has nothing to do with their accent. I’m not as charmed by a UK accent like many others are. It has to do with acting culture in each country and how different it is.
Humble brags abound... also black brits have varied accents, so try again.
That and they are way cheaper to hire than American actors. WAY CHEAPER. For example for Star Wars: The Force Awakens John Boyega was paid a reportedly $100,000-$300,000. Oscar Issac who had less screen time was paid three times as much.
Exactly. Most people’s accents (in Greater London anyway) have become more estuary over the past 20 years. This goes all the way up to Princes William and Harry. That said, all British actors can do RP. If you can’t do accents, you can’t be an actor in this country.
Friendly neighborhood social scientist here. There are other research models that can be done when true experimental studies (i.e. randomized control trials) can’t be done. Basically, you need to have a huge sample (thousands and thousands) so you can try to control for co-variates (like socioeconomic status). But…
