Less cabin noise, having the engines higher up makes them less likely to ingest foreign materials when taking off/landing at less-refined runways, and something about reducing drag as someone mentioned below.

I’ve owned 3 variants of MK1 (N/A, Supercharged, and super-duper-Turbo Mk1.5 swap) - That supercharger is good for a mild bump in HP, but what it really does is low-end torque. The car really out-accelerates the NA like you wouldn’t believe... And it’s easier to get power out of as well, an exhaust/intake/pulley combo

Came for MR2, left satisfied :)

*Also, can I get Un-greyed please? I’ve only been commenting on jalop for ~4 years now!

Subies are longitudinal, and depending on the model, can go up to 90% rear bias (Talking STi with a DCCD). Haven’t heard anything bad there about the drivetrain other than 2.5RS gearboxes being notoriously weak...

LanEvos and GT4’s are transverse, supposed to be 50/50, but I’m not too sure on the technical bits there

You’re comparing a FWD sedan to a RWD pony/sports car (depending on how you define em). I mean, the 6 is nice and all... But you may as well compare it to an MR2 or a Miata.

A Speed6 on the other hand, I’d agree... But they’ve been out of production for nearly 8 years now...

Something involving a mid-engined car, boost, gratuitous wheelspin, and large slip-angles...

Amen to that, albeit with my MR2. Huge snowstorm overnight? No problem, leave an hour early, but instead of sitting in traffic on the highway, cut through industrial zones and side streets with the ass hanging out. It doesnt take an extra hour, but the fudge factor is handy in case you get carried away ;)

Never had the moneyshifting issue with mine (E51 gearbox), but I have had a few times where I tried leaving a light in third because close spacing between 1 and 3

This x1000

I don’t car if you take two spaces at the back of the lot. Was it wrong of the 740 driver to smash off the trucks mirror? Absolutely... But that truck driver literally went looking to cause some shit in an otherwise empty parking lot, so I can’t say that I feel any sympathy for his missing mirror.

Start shit?

He’s mad.

I think he may have scraped on a leaf.

You drive a Jetta, of course you’ll be an advocate of the only kind of modding you can do with a German Corolla

Just read through it - beautiful story, & I’m pretty sure the previous owner was glad he sold to a guy who’d take car of the car! Looks absolutely stunning in the photos too, you got one hell of a great catch there! :)

Millenial here, I’d say we’re screwed. I’ve noticed that among my circle of friends, you’ve got the car guys, most of whom own 90’s JDM, a few older muscle cars, and one guy with a 2006 Evo IX MR. Nobody’s too keen on newer sports cars because of the proliferation of weight & nanny systems in all of the new ones...

Is that... A Toyota Century?

You, sir, have won this thread.

Also my favorite luxury vehicle - It’s like a non-ostentatious Rolls Royce/Maybach!

> In conclusion, you are mistaking the different generations of the BMW M5. The current model has the “fake engine noise”, the old model that I posted had the high-revving, race-inspired V10.

As a supercharged owner, I can confirm this car is so much faster than “145 hp” would lead you to believe.

If you absolutely have to be the fastest, swap in a 3S-GTE from a Gen2 with some light mods if you feel brave, that’s a whole new experience in speed...

AW11 on 13’s? Don’t think I’ve ever seen that! All 3 of mine came on 14’s!

Protip though, 15” is the sweet spot on these cars, 17”s look blingy but the added weight is noticeable on the AW, and finding 16” performance tires isn’t fun :/

Ouch. Well, if it makes you feel any better, I envy your maintained roads and ability to still import RHD cars! :)

Which province? When I was shopping around, I got quoted for $800/year on an ST205 (RHD). Currently doing $600/year on my swapped MR2, and 220/year for my stock GZE (Quebec insurance).

What kind of world do we live in where a Baja Bug & a 4C appear on the same list of cars for an event...

But this fine piece of engineering does not. I swear, in bright red, anyone that doesn’t know how to car will think it’s a Ferrari/Lambo,
