I think you forgot the Bombardier CRJ's, most recent variant of which was designed in the late 90's/early 2000's iirc. Not a dead market by any means, it's got significantly more competition than the large-jet market which is pretty much dominated by Boeing & Airbus...

and how heavy are those cars? We're talking about something with a bit more mass and equipment than a Hyundai Elantra here, first off. Try the exact same maneuver at the same speed with same margins in an S600, and then with a Miata or BRZ, and you'll get very different results.

Problem with that is thermodynamics & conservation of energy. The amount of energy you need to operate the cooling system to that level is not insignificant, especially when you factor in the operational heat generated by the unit.
