Seems harsh.  I could see if she were literally vacationing but it sounds like she’s working.  A dumb job, yes (“brand ambassador”), but a job nonetheless.  It’s not like she’s raking in Nanny money any longer and a woman’s gotta eat.

Networking event.

Yeah, that seems like it to me. Fieri seems like a fairly decent guy, as celebrities go. I’d wish he’d taken a stance, but I understand him playing the middle. I wouldn’t be shocked if most of his audience were Trump-os.

terrible time to not use thyme

Say what you will, he got Flavortown’s trains to run on time.

None of this is shocking. Jack White has long used social media to chastise celebrities for cowing to Trump and normalizing his behavior.”

Fieri seems like a case of “Stay polite with the fuckwit so I don’t alienate that part of my base”. I’d be very surprised if the other three aren’t genuine Trump supporters, even if Bro Grogan likes to feign neutrality and centrism.

Definitely not. FUBAR didn’t get to many film festivals, but it’s a Canadian classic. Sort of like Trailer Park Boys, but a lot realer. It’s a mockumentary about two headbanger types who live in Calgary, just real wasters who don’t do anything but drink beer and listen to metal. You’ve definitely run into guys like

Ya, sadly he doesn’t get a lot of press outside Canada. Quentin Tarantino was a big champion of the film. Avoid the sequel at all costs, though. Makes a good double feature with FUBAR, since both are mockumentaries, but very different in style. Hard Core Logo isn’t tying to be funny at all.

I thought it was great when I saw it in the theatre years ago, saw it again recently and still felt that way. Definitely would not want a TV series, though.

Also Hard Core Logo!

How are you gonna mention Bruce Macdonald, but not Hard Core Logo?

Because this is a list of essential films by Canadian directors, not essential Canadian films. Also missing is Hard Core Logo by Bruce Macdonald, Saddest Music In the World Guy Maddin, 32 Short Films About Glenn Gould by Francois Girard. And many more.

Bruce McDonald and Arcand were noticeable snubs. And Jesus of Montreal is a great movie.

I also loved Egoyan’s film Exotica.

Now playing

Gotta give Ted Kotcheff credit for directing Australia’s great Lost Film:

Obviously the author doesn’t pay attention to anything we write. I guess we just do this just to see ourselves in print. ;-)

Finally someone else that’s seen it. This was my reaction as well. I quite enjoyed it, and there was nothing in this that made me roll my eyes as hard as a life raft out of a plane and down a mountain, most of Crystal Skull, and everything in the Fast and Furious movies that happens after about 2/3 of the way through

What does “icky” mean? Grow the fuck up. There is nothing “icky” about this guy making a basicass comment. If anything is “icky” here it’s that one black man is being asked about the behavior of another black man he doesn’t know.

Not entirely sure if I understood every word, but damn it, I love your post lol.
