I'm lvl 27 and I never once did the loot cave for any amount of time. I simply did bounties, got my rep up and bought the gear, plus a drop from the Queens Wrath event.

And that is what we call lucky. Most people would probably only get one or maybe 2 in the course of an hour + and even then those engrams would probably turn into a blue.

I'm there with ya. My Warlock is 27 and it's like "now what". Cause I will probably never do the raid as I don't have 5 other friends who have the game and Bungie certainly didn't make it easy to find groups for it.

Yeah, I can see it being good for power leveling - but it's just an extremely inefficient way to get gear and that's what boggles my mind is people using it in hopes of getting gear.

Are you leveling up a faction? 3 out of my 4 pieces of light gear came from a rep vendor before I did any Queens Wrath stuff. Even then it would have been a full 4 out of 4 next week.

I could see it being used to power level, but I just don't see the purpose in do it to try and get gear. You have to be extremely lucky to get anything valuable from engram farming.

Any luck with what? There is no luck in raising a reputation and buying legendaries, or doing the Queens Wrath bounties and then doing the missions for guaranteed legendaries.. The only luck I had was with the exotic weapon, which doesn't give light.

Not really, you get more than enough upgrade parts just by killing all the guys during bounties, well minus the Ascendant Shards and Energy. Then you still have to go out and farm up the planet specific upgrade parts.

I really don't understand why you would do it. Just from doing bounties I've already gotten 3 legendaries from rep, got lucky with an exotic weapon from the Crucible and then because of the Queens Wrath event going on I was able to get full legendaries (currently lvl 27).

But it does guarantee light level? I'll have 3 legendaries tomorrow, all from Reputation and I'll be level 26

Yeah, I just got my Future War Cult to rank 3 last night. I have already purchased 2 legendaries from them and tomorrow I'll be able to purchase a 3rd, which will put me at lvl 26

The funny thing is, what they are doing in that gif is extremely inefficient in terms to get gear. What they should be doing is getting their rep up with a faction and getting vanguard/crucible marks for guaranteed legendaries.

You can count me in that 75%. I only play ranked enough to reach rank 20 to get the Card Backs then I stop.

That's just how MMO's work. People work out the quickest and easiest way to get the best gear. Although engram farming, which is what they are doing here, is highly inefficient.

Not really. If I'm playing Destiny to have fun and they take the servers down with their attacks they are ruining my fun.

It's not really rushing. People just know what to do now so they arent wiping for hours on end anymore.
