The “everything is political” philosophy kind of has to do with the specification of the word, by a philosopher. Thousands of years ago. It’s not a very bold claim, setting aside the slight hyperbole of “everything.” Politics is how we interact with reasoned (λόγος) agreement/disagreement.

Conflating governance/government with politics isn’t exactly helpful. “Not everything is governmental” is a much more accurate statement than, “Not everything is political.”

Human interaction *is* inherently political. I mean, the root of the word isn’t a mystery. The whole point of Aristotle’s Πολιτικά is to isolate the trait that distinguishes humanity from everything else, yes? “Government” and “Law”or “Public Policy” are not essential to human interaction in the same way. They are

Craving and needing are different things. Also why are are 9 of your examples fictional characters? Get the problem?

“. What we can do in the wake of someone’s death though is celebrate their life and achievements.”

“I think we all need heroes.”

how many currently prominent white mathematicians astronauts and scientists can you name? Everyone likes dumb shit.  Its not a “black america” issue.

“do you really think that anyone watching it doesn’t realize it was edited”

Weird i think the opposite. Not sure why you disvalue brutal honesty

commenting on kotaku sounds super boring too and yet here we are

“Donate for what in exchange exactly”

I mean it is faux friendhship, but that isn’t novel. Half of the appeal of celebrities is faux friendship. How much resources have been devoted to following the ins and outs of peoples lives as if you were keeping up with your best friend? And I dont mean just the kardashians. You dont even have to stop at Grubstreet

People dont make money based on “labor” they make money based on the interaction of desire and scarcity. “Labor theories of price” are some 19th century junk.

Thats kind of an unwarranted assumption. Certain industry types do better in recession. “Sin” businesses (cigs, junk food), easy pleasure (the 3cs, candy condoms cosmetics), and cheap substitutes are prime examples.  Or are at least recesssion indifferent/resistent.

follower/viewer numbers are not a particularly reliable way to predict subs given the variance. Community types can be quite different. There are 300/25k viewer/follower streamers making as much as 2k/400k streamers off sub money. Lots of small streamers have dedicated communities with a number of big fish sub

Its tipping a busker.  What is mysterious about it?

why do you think *he* thinks theyre equivalent, rather than him just being sociologically descriptive?

as if he was being bold and interesting by offering a stereotypical single concept answer cribbed right out of a sophomore’s liberal arts essay.

generally people do, in fact, give a shit about billion dollar industries. Nice attempt at jaded flippancy though.
