Google is interested in any platform for their software. Just a little hint, they even tend to give away their products for free, just to bind even more users to them. So why exactly should they mind to be an essential part of the PS4?

Not only that you are wrong about a partnership between them, you are also wrong about them being rivals. Sony is making hardware and entertainment content. And Google searches and distributes content and creates software. Where exactly should they collide? Microsoft and Google, they are rivals.

A ton of great people don't or barely post anymore. I'd probably be gone too if there weren't blueTunic's Chrome extension. On the other hand it annoys me that I have to update it manually, just because Denton is too stupid to offer us alternatives.

You do know that you can simply download the current firmware (192mb) from Sony's HP http://us.playstation.com/support/systemupdates/ps3/pc_update/index.htm, copy it on a stick and dang! update your PS3. No magic abilities required. ;)

Uhm, no. Jaffe left Eat Sleep Play and is doing F2P browser games now. Not the slightest connection to Gaikai.
