I think that's weird. You are already pressing the gas. Might as well link the gas to the CVT. Press the pedal a little, the cvt moves more economically, press it a lot it goes for speed.

Basically, a hidden path to let more air into the turbo then was allowed because of HP requirements. A quick turn of a tool in the engine would unleash an extra 50hp supposedly.
