Miatas generally need nothing, that 1.6/1.8 keeps plugging away. The M42 is a reliable mill as long as you keep oil in it and deal with the vacuum system. I can't speak to the maintenance of a Miata, but I imagine it's similar to my 23 year old E30 with 216k miles

This is like my car's good twin brother, stock suspension, still has the lower lip, also a Slicktop(No Sunroof), and M42 Goodness.

Days supply could be an issue as well; Ford is retooling a factory for a new truck, the supply will dwindle.

Wahooo! I'm being followed!!!! But in seriousness, Tavarish, I love the stories, more of the buying/flipping! Tom's articles are great starters into the conversation of real world car buying, I can add to these as a professional sales rep. As for the flipping articles, I truly enjoy them, but cannot add very much, a

*MKS vs Taurus.

I find it interesting that Ford is the oldest brand to have never changed hands. Ford has always been owned by the Ford family.

Does it count that I got essentially 14k for a car I only paid $14,100 for? How's that for depreciation!

I bought a 2014 F-150. Traded in my 2011 Ranger XL Manual. Got nearly what I paid for it including tax for trade in. My F150 was a killer deal because I work for the dealership.

I just bought one myself. The F150's ride is decent, you'll be very happy with that. And if you live in SF Bay Area, I can sell it to you if you like.

FORD SALES BROS!

MOD usually refers to the Modular engine (4.6L/5.0L) So if anything it could be stroked 5.0L

Mechanically, the Prius is very simple. Software on the other hand, that is not simple on that car.

I sold them when they were new, they're not all bad. You got a lot of feature set for very little price, Ford had some stupid rebates toward the end of the '11 run. Think about this: You could have a Focus with Sync, auto headlights, power group, and a moonroof for around 15k + tax vs the comparable Civic or Corolla

Indeed. I think it's funny that their "best in class fuel economy" is available with a max towing of 4800lbs, even less if you want a quad or crew cab. That 8 spd is probably as brittle as hardened plate glass.

M3 is the chase car, that's awesome.

Nope, 4cyl the 3 in the middle are main bearings.

I'm fairly certain that it also reduces payload capacity as well.

By the way, buying a car is a poor financial decision; you're buying a depreciating asset, and you're paying tax for that as well. Don't throw your money away, take public transit.
