As someone who picked one(a 32GB model) up today at Staples, I was under the impression that HP is just not continuing developing the OS. They would still have to honor their warranty, and I don't see why their repair department would all of a sudden cease knowing how to repair them.

Repair? Most salt spreaders are also dump trucks, so you can use them in the summer for things like hauling debris. I bet you can also use them for spreading fertilizer or broadcasting seed.
