Actually, the games DO HAVE a save data tranfer mechanism, and it's called "Memory Link".

If you played White, then I reccomend that you play White 2, seeing as there's an option in the game to tranfer various data from your old save so you see many cool stuff, for example, characters in the game will say the name you gave to your character instead "that trainer" or some shit like that.
