No. They don’t even use something like what you are describing in any other racing series, so it’s a silly idea for you to even discuss that.
If only there was some sort of fixture they could mount above the driver to protect him/her. Something with pillars to support it. You could even add a glass bit in front o protect the driver from debris. Can anyone think of such a system?

Yes. I’m not sure what jurisdiction this might be legal in, but where I live, when another company contacts you for a reference, all we’ll say is their date of hire and termination. Anything further they want to know, the subject has to request that we release that information.
HR tells us we’re never, under any circumstances, allowed to tell an ex employee’s potential future employer anything negative. We have to acknowledge that they used to work here, and can only say they were “terminated”.
