Steve McQueen beat women and was not cool, I like to point that out since I was alive back then, unlike the children who have elevated him to some god like status. He had good movies but he was not someone to look up to.
I think if a person really likes that era/music then its quite original and cool. Its not like those horrible body kits used by the sons of oil sheikh.
I would say that nothing in the more modern era of these brands can match the insanity and fun of an F40, they should never stop building the F40. My brother has an M1 procar, I brought an R500 7 and one of his friends brought an F40 to a track day. We all took turns with each others cars. I have never wanted to just…
Well I have driven a few of each brand and they are of course not boring, I do have to agree with Jezza though. The Ferraris have a visceral raw feeling that you can only call passion. The McLarens have a NASA, controlled feeling about them, NASA still launched rockets into space so not slow either. There is a…
I don't really like those cars, haha, I have a 69 GT500 but only because it was an oddity in my fathers collection. There are a few that were unique, I think the old Mustangs, pre 70 were more differentiated than the others. I was born in 1931 so I have seen them come and go!
Well I worked in F1 for 22 years, I admit never for McLaren, but I could get a feeling for the operation.
I think there are very few exceptions, I find myself mistaking many cars for others. The Caddies are just hideous, any of the high end nice looking cars will be in the minority on the road as in any other era.
I would still say that is true, there are very few exceptions. The bottom two are almost exactly the same as well.
Personally I feel like modern cars are appliances, that is fine if you need a commuter car, but for real driving I just don't feel anything in the new 911s ect. They assist you so much, so stable, not much vibration, muted, plastics feel the same in most brands. I could never see buying a new 911 over a nicely tuned,…
Yeah, summer tyres on an AWD will get you four slippery contact patches, useless.
Yeah, the McLaren people just don't know how to relax and feel some passion.
Is this like Red Alert in space, with a fleet? Looks nice.
Yes I know all of this, I'm a retired race engineer. I have had many Mercs over the years, never worked for them though, only Germans with BMW, with Sauber. Oh and I'm half Finn, half Swede, but I prefer the fuel injection pump work of Gus Pfister who now resides in the USA. No they don't look fast, the aero is…
I had an orange original, not to quick haha
This isn't the point, its not a fast looking car. I DD a 300D Turbo. They are designed for highway runs, the diesels have great momentum at higher RPMs and the turbos spool up and have loads of torque at highway speed. Stop lights are the problem, even with my tuned pump you have to wait for the turbo to get going.
That has nothing to do with my argument, drones are flown from the ground and they can perform maneuvers a human can't survive. We will see much more piloting from the ground. The Navy is using huge drone aircraft to patrol the Pacific instead of so much satellite use, just happened recently. Why put someone in the…
I just see a god awful vehicle, that is ugly.
I was told it was his, he owned it. He also sold his house in Helsinki.
