Really? I know several people who bought used SUV’s over a newer minivan (which were in the same price-range) because they consider SUV’s safer. I think this is a common misconception.
What I find interesting with Ford’s strategy is that right now they are making a ton of money off of trucks and SUV’s so of course the UAW wants to build them in the US. What happens when gas goes up though and people stop buying trucks and big SUV’s? Huge layoffs and plant closures in Michigan.
