Yeah, I noticed this starting in the second half of the first season where Rick and Shane's choices/arguments were exactly inverted from in the comics. It made Rick's characterization less interesting (and consistent), but I think they're recovering from that now with Rick's much more complex, believable, and frankly

She is? I stopped reading not long after

There's a reason carbon-based life is likely. Biology just has to be based on an element capable of forming multiple stable bonds; otherwise you won't get complex chemistry at all. There's only really two options, carbon and silicon, and carbon still has several advantages. Obviously any idea that intelligent life

Um, actually... don't want to spoil anything, but you might want to read the comics.

I'm anti-nuclear too in the same sense, except I'm anti-coal even more. Nuclear may be very expensive, but its human cost is actually much lower than that of coal. Solar, wind, etc. may not be really ready for another few decades, but we need to start reducing reliance on coal and oil before then. There just isn't

Yeah Echoes of Honor was definitely the peak of the series. Unfortunately it's been going slowly downhill since...

It's like people think there's tons of better genre television currently running... there's Fringe and Supernatural, and that's about it. This show isn't perfect, but it's pretty darn good.

The first season had its flaws as well.

ONE competent female character that isn't relegated to washing the clothes and can handle a gun. Just ONE. That's all I ask.

Both Vinge's and Kurzweil's beliefs are similarly out there, but one of these people also happens to be a great storyteller, while Kurzweil's forays into fiction are... well. How much advice on the actual story Emmerich would take from either of them is unknown anyway.

That is a good question. If it has such short battery life it must have solar panels or nuclear power (not a reactor, just using the heat generated by radioactive decay), but I don't see why any of those wouldn't work as well in Earth orbit. The only thing I can think of is perhaps with it unresponsive it hasn't

Agreed, I'm very skeptical but the trailer at least is expertly constructed.

Oh, I've really stopped being bothered by differences. I'm really enjoying the show, it's perhaps not as good as it could be but it's so much better than the rest of what currently passes for TV scifi.

Darryl's definitely the best character original to the show. Heck even T-Dogg is growing on me a bit, though he's still not a substitute for Tyreese. (I think those two plus Merle are the only TV-original characters currently alive)

Having seen videos of Big Dog trotting about twenty times as fast (in the latest videos, up to a human jogging speed on flat terrain), without wheels, on roads, leaves, snow, ice, up steep hills, and recovering from slips and being kicked in a manner so unnervingly like a real dog, tell me why I should be impressed

Is there anything similar for new episodes of TV shows? As it is I have to check first the XfinityTV site, then Hulu, then if I feel like taking the trouble the individual network's site, and finally less legit means.

There is not nearly enough crackpot in this crackpot movie review.

Wouldn't that about sum up the entire series, actually? Things Got Worse, the Comic?

God yes Gina Torres. Provided she's not too busy playing 355 in the Y the Last Man movie. I don't want to live in the universe where she doesn't get that role.

Or better yet, kill him off and give us Tyreese.
