It’s not great at any one thing, but it’s good at everything and it’s easy to park in the garage. Love my 08 with the VQ40DE.

Had 2 of them.. Last one had 346k on cluster and still going..

Y’all clearly forget how revolutionary the Dodge Ram redesign in 1994 was. No longer were pickups bound by the traditional boxy body design that had dominated for literally decades but instead could be, dare I say it, stylish. Seriously, I had two trucks of that generation and considering the available

I love the old Power Wagons, but I think a Kaiser Jeep M715 is even truckier.

Close, friend, but a Power Wagon with a Willock swivel frame is the truckiest truck.

I’m going to stick my neck out for the 2nd generation Nissan Frontier. While obviously not the most powerful, and definitely not without its own issues (then again, what truck is without these?), it came in several different configurations and offered plenty of power and even modest reliability for a

“Tribute”

Subaru’s Bi-drive Recreational All-terrain Transporter or BRAT. The original AWD car based pick em-up truck.

Agreed. I inherited my old man’s 2000 Silverado stripper. The 4.3 V6 is just fine, once I learned to keep the 4L60-E Trans in “3" under 70mph, and Tow/Haul always on. Since I don’t care about the inop ABS, no major repairs for me so far at 150k....

Power Wagon is definitely one of the best answers. Like the original Jeep it was built because of the reputation it earned serving in WWII. Like the Jeep it was the only other 4WD vehicle you could buy from the factory in 1964. Like the Jeep it was over built and under powered. Simple, rugged, adaptable they were

Im partial to the 400's but I agree with the 800's being solid.

Chevy C/K

These are the exact fleet vehicle generation I was talking about in my post, I didn’t know the chassis code

REPU!

Literally greatest?

My cousin would go with pretty much any of the Chevy or GMC 1500 or 2500 line from 2000 or whenever on. They have been his fleet trucks for his structural steel company and they only time they die is when someone wrecks them. Swap all the swappables out and you will easily get a half a million miles with it hauling

The best ruck I have ever owned was a ‘97 S-10. 4.3, auto, 2wd. I ran that thing to 311,00 miles.

The Power Wagon is still the truckiest truck that ever trucking trucked.

Outside of the 10 largest metro areas in the country, that’s not generally an option. And never was. Everyone bitches about Uber in NYC, but Uber in small towns has been a godsend, even if it’s likely unsustainable.

Taxi drivers aren’t treated much better, and their cars are also poorly maintained, taking the scenic route in a car that rides like it has square wheels, you have to call several cab companies hoping one will show up 3 hours later, and a group of riders charged individually.
