Not even close. Tesla’s cars are hugely profitable. They turn around and spend those profits on capex for new capabilities. That’s not taking a loss on a car, that’s just good business. But hey you could always short the stock. Myself and many others would be happy to take your money.

Musk made the case for better economics on stage. Whether or not that pans out or, whether or not businesses buy the thing remains to be seen.
