Talk about a flashback! I worked for Toyota's R&D department at the time so got to both work on and drive these cars around the LA area. There were about a half-dozen cars put into service with the CHP and LA County Sherriffs (one was on Catalina Island of all places.) They were all V6 cars, with ES250 gearboxes…
