I would argue voluntary emission of "person" vs involuntary, but I guess if we're going absurd then that's just too rational of an argument to make!

I prefer my absurdism with a dash of realism. For example: they're making the argument that zygotes are humans, which essentially argues that anything with the potential to be human is a "person." If that's true and women can't use birth control or have abortions, then men should not be able to masturbate. Sperm spent…
I'm actually surprised the abortion storyline wasn't covered on Jez or in other feminist media arenas. It was amazingly well done. And the show overall is one of the few out there with a ton of epically awesome women instead of the token cool girl and her [insert stereotypical quality here] sidekick.
Bailey on Grey's Anatomy! One of my favorite all time characters.
I feel like I'm missing something. So many people are exclaiming the fact that the accuser is white. Why is that such a big deal? Would a non-white accuser carry less weight?
I always have thought that many of the people who are "cured" (not the ones who choose celibacy but the ones who actually change to engage in traditional hetero sexual behavior) are the ones who were rounding up to gay in the first place (Savage Love). In other words, bisexual men and women who were more attracted to…
Absolutely loved this movie. Thanks for the reminder - I've gotta add it to the "must buy" list.
Reminds me of the 4th grade girl Jez posted about yesterday who racked up 4 felonies because she refused to stop eating her candy.
People judging other people's media tastes is one of my biggest pet peeves. Especially when I ask people about their musical interests and they straight up reply with "nothing you would have heard of."
"If God doesn't want unmarried women to have children, why doesn't he install magical buttons into them that automatically render them fertile when they want to be?"
That's my new favorite slogan.
Agreed. Every season I'm impressed that the show doesn't devolve into... whatever Smallville was by the time it ended.
I wonder if it bothered him that there were different amounts of each letter...
Not taking into account whether or not Miracle Day is any good, I believe content availability is significantly lowering US numbers. Everyone I know did the math and then stole it. No Netflix, no Amazon, no iTunes... huh. Bit torrent it is.
It's possible. I won't say that it isn't.
I always ask if a dude is Republican and/or pro-choice on the first date. Basic litmus testing.
When I read the title, I honestly thought you were going to explain his waist to shoulder ratio.
Hearted.
Stephen Lynch reference :-)
When I talked with my university about this, and how they justified calling us a "diverse" community, they said, basically, that since faculty are mostly male it balances it out. When I asked them how that even counted - faculty male, support staff female - they just kinda shrugged and started talking about "thought…
