@Anansi Boy: oh hell yes, that would rock my world! Somewhere in Firefly/Serenity 'verse there's a small world with a small town with a Hellmouth and the crew just happens to land there and they're on the down low and they need a cover so they pretend to be a (high-function but severely dysfunctional ) family and they

@Annamatopoetry: *nods* Agreed. However, she was most definitely a woman of color. Which Angelina Jolie is most definitely not.

@gargle: Last Airbender. Upcoming Cleopatra movie (Angelina Jolie was cast as the lead). Prince of Persia with Jake Gyllenhaal as the lead.

@a_blackpanther: omg, that is EXACTLY what I thought. I was all, WTF is Madge doing on the set of Who? Haven't they finished filming for the season? OMG, maybe she's in an upcoming episode as a Cyberman Upgrade!

I'm writing in for sesame balls, the ones with red bean paste in them. Not too sweet, not too greasy, and they have vaguely healthy attributes. Oh, and they're absolutely delicious.

@reimoise: ooh, or Vicki, Christina, Barcelona! He's absolutely gorgeous and sexy in that one.

@mkirkland: ... How is writing/casting white characters a central theme? I get how wealth, suburban life, and an obvious sense of privilege and entitlement might be a base for the storyline, but those elements are not exclusive to white people.

Is a token protagonist of color too much to ask for?

This reminds me of "Rose," the first Doctor Who episode of the reboot, when all those mannequins came to life. If they'd used #8, I don't think I would have watched Who at all. Which, you know, would have been a shame.

@whormongr: I read (somewhere) that the Blowfish is in this one...

@Serge.: YES. Infinitely. Especially since blood-drinking is written as a quasi-sexual experience for most vamps while eating brains is written as a revolting and violent experience that involves dinner being dead (at least by the end of the meal. one hopes).

@serenada: Really, all I need to know is that Bradley Cooper takes his shirt off. I'm there. With popcorn.

My question: what's a "female car insurance company"? A company that only insures cars owned by women? A company comprised entirely of women?

...wait, Javier Bardem is in Eat Pray Love?!? I wasn't going to see the movie but knowing he's in it, I can't not.

@ceti: Eccleston and Tennant were exceptional. Smith just isn't pulling his weight and I'm not falling in love with him like I fell in love with Nine and Ten. And Amy Pond is fun but also lacking... something about this new Who is lacking and I just can't quite put my finger on it. But yeah, I agree with you - not

I've been somewhat disappointed with Eleven/Moffat this season of Who so I'm super excited to hear Torchwood news. Captain Jack should be plenty full of emo angsty rage, especially if the show finally acknowledges that the man has lost just about everybody and everything that means anything to him.

@Tippi Hedren: When I first saw Javier Bardem I seriously thought he was JDM from an alternate universe (Spain, apparently). *sigh*

Okay: blush for people with skin the color of Hershey's milk chocolate?

When I go to my comic store to pick up my monthly dose of Fables or Sandman and I'm looking for new comics I'm always astounded by the sheer volume of naked.
