You're missing out on a really great single player story, if you ask me. I love the God of War franchise.

Ah, this is very good news! I remember seeing Barlog's journey as creative director on the GoW II behind the scenes videos. It'll be very interesting to see what he's working on! :)

I adore the God of War series, but I feel it's been tainted by Ascension. That game feels so soulless and formulaic. It's technically

Oh, San Andreas, definitely. Easily one of the best games ever made. That world felt so alive and realized, and there were so many cool, memorable places, characters and missions. I remember the huge lead-up to the heist in Las Venturas and then finally doing it...just epic.

To be fair, it's not GTA copying Saints Row, it's modders copying Saints Row.

I think the idea is more to promote Playstation characters and franchises in an attempt to win more yet people over to PS4, particularly those considering leaping from Microsoft's side of the field.

Google own YouTube.

I played this game recently through PS+. Missed out back on the PS2, was so glad to be able to enjoy it at last! Which I did! ^_^

It's a modern classic, to use Penguin's term.

I know, I can imagine a mission where Hale goes missing and you have to track him down, fearing he's already turned to the Chimera! Plus he would've been a cool final boss if that last playable sequence is anything to go by! :P

IGN were just talking about this series not being dead yet in Podcast Beyond!

It's absolutely milking it, yes, but it looks fun. I'd rather run as Nathan Drake than some generic Indiana Jones rip-off.

Oh wait!

(Jokes! Drake is actually a fairly well-developed character.)

I agree that the story isn't that engaging in 1/2, but that's because it's a boring military-themed story tied in with an interesting concept. 3, however, features a different character, and takes place 4 years after the war effort has failed. It's a much more human story, and it's a post-apocalyptic one rather than a

I'm working through my PS3 backlog now and, to be fair, Resistance 2 and 3 were amazing games, everything that the first should've been. I'm one of these people who hated on the first for its mediocrity, but I just want to get the message out there to people that its a series worth getting into now that it's dirt

I like the excitement of getting a console at launch. I like being able to discuss it, and follow its journey from day one.

And plus, if you're a console gamer like me, you're used to technology that the PC gamers would have us believe is very outdated, so it's almost like updating your graphics card at the first

Skyler is one of the saner, nicer characters, but that doesn't make her likeable or fun to watch. She's a bit of a downer. She just complains and makes things difficult for the other main characters. I don't think there's a single likeable female character on the show whatsoever.

I think it's relatively safe to say that the ending will be either tragic or bittersweet. Particularly when you consider the Ozymandias trailer.

My predictions:

- Walter will either die from cancer, be killed by Jesse upon finding out about Jane, or get arrested. There's no way he's walking out of this one.

- Jesse

Catherine sort of meets this half-way. Yes, the game features lots of bizarre fantasy, but at the same time, its main concern is focused on a human relationship.

Great article. This is the sort of stuff I aim to produce on my blog, combining my background in literary analysis with my passion for gaming.

You raise a great point; there are parallels between the individual and the game. It's almost like catharsis in the form of fantasy. We replace our lives with fictional ones and

Thanks, I will do! :)

Thanks Jason, just ordered my copy. I've wanted to get into games journalism since I was a kid! I'm going to attempt to break into the field after I'm done at university. At the moment, all I'm doing is running a very infrequently-updated blog, though I'm putting in a lot of effort to make it well-written and

I've had a dream game for a while now.

A third-person, open-world game with similar mechanics to Assassin's Creed. It's about a man whose family is killed by a vampire in the 17th century, and he ends up getting turned into one in the attack. The game follows him throughout various cities over the next few centuries as
