I'm confused; I thought Legacy was created to market Mortal Kombat (2011)? Why are they continuing it? A sequel in the works? Or purely out of popularity?
Did anybody else who played the demo find the controls really awkward? I didn't understand how to parry properly for a long time, there doesn't seem to be an evade button, Blade Mode is particularly awkward I find. Sometimes the blade doesn't swipe, other times it swipes too much, and in unintended directions.
It really annoys me that loads of people seem to think The Slender Man is a Weeping Angel. He doesn't just stand there! That's not his "thing"! His thing is that he stalks people over time, slowly driving them insane, and it's impossible to stop him because getting close to him causes intense sickness and memory loss.…
No, it didn't, it was just overhyped because The Dark Knight was such a huge success. It was on par with Batman Begins, however, which was a perfectly good movie, just not quite decade-defining. Memento, The Prestige and Inception were all great, complex, and fantastically-written movies.
I think he's talking less about 'play' though and more about 'interaction', because THAT'S what separates games from the other mediums. Calling whatever he's advocating as "games", however, might mislead. You might say he's promoting different kinds of 'interactive experiences', other than games.
I think we do, but it's much more rare. It does makes those games stand out as all the more special however.
Sort of missing his point there - he's saying what you see as a "game" isn't necessarily what a game needs to be. Games could be just as deep, artistic and intellectual as literature or film, he's saying. They don't need to be simple, fun entertainment. They can carry more meaning. They can play a bigger role in our…
I think Spec Ops: The Line did a remarkable job of covering both bases.
I love the idea that if they end up not selling these, they're gonna have a surplus of thousands of hand-painted severed torsos.
lolwut
With all the Star Wars news that's been around since the announcement of this new trilogy, I actually find this incredibly hard to believe.
I played the demo and HATED the whole "We Are The 99%" themes...I'm sure the game will apply to those in their early teens, but I can't take it seriously. It's stupid. That's the most fitting word I can use!
Conspiracy theory time! Perhaps the leak and subsequent creation of said popular meme was a deliberate move on the part of McDonalds to gain publicity for this particular consumable?
So if this is true, then Giger created a piece of art that was inspired by this flea market piece, but quite different at the same time. And then when Giger was brought on board Alien, he created something EXACTLY like the flea market piece? Nope, not buying it.
Dafuq did I just watch? 0_o
What about Slender: The Arrival? Surely that ought to be on the unannounced list!
Tomb Raider started out as a 3D adventure game though. And besides, it was Uncharted that copied Tomb Raider: Legend and many of its mechanics - including the now-influential climbing elements.
Sometimes they do, usually some kind of armour. Even some very popular aliens wear clothes. Predator, for example.
They should've went all Transformers with Galactus. I'm sure there must be a way to get him looking cool and modern.
