I think everyone's overreacting here... He said they're trying to specifically target the "ragequitter," not the occasional "oh shit, I need to leave NOW" people.

@syafiqjabar of Mars: That was my first thought...
@TheFirstBardo: Man, I totally agree with this. I think it's the big reason movie adaptations of video games fail. When things turn live action, everyone needs reality to be way too grounded in it.
@ibelli: Wow, that's waking up in the afternoon for you. I meant to say "invent" not "even."
Somewhere along the way, Halo lot its magic for me. I didn't hate it, but maybe I burned myself out on the ridiculous and obsessive speculation and riddle-hunts that surrounded Halo 3's prelaunch, as well as the fact that a lot of things are either not explained or take pretty in-depth knowledge to figure out (i.e. -…
@seasaltchips: I have to say, despite your feelings about Halo, it's definitely a trip to play all three games. It's sort of like Metal (the music), either it'll crawl into you and tug at your gut, or you'll "meh" the hell out of it.
@ibelli: James Cameron didn't even fantastic and colorful landscapes. Techno Viking did.
When I hear about these things, my little mind ticks away at possible scenarios where 7,000 zombies would be aaaawesome. Just thinking about them is.
This is probably one of the first legitimate reasons I've seen to shift games to 3D... Wow, that bush example has opened my eyes.
@Dyn: Isn't the Christian apocalypse supposed to be a rebirth as well?
Why is Miss Traviss assimilating the novel tie-in business of every video game franchise that I love? It's a good thing.
@Kris Miranda: Nylund was awesome, no doubt about that, but Traviss will kick anyone's butt six ways from Sunday in regards to psychological realism for soldiers and warfare. I can't wait to see what she comes up with.
Jesus christ. This is like releasing a "game of the year edition" for movies. Avatar: now with bonus content!!!
I wish that the current "climate" of live action movies permitted the same type of allowances we provide for anime. The Street Fighter animated movie was awesome, and I think the S.F.: Legacy fan project was a good example of how you can take the ridiculousness of cartoons and video games and "translate" them without…
@root: I don't even know how I made that mistake... My bad! I used to live in San Mateo...I get the three confused.
I think you're conflating it's relation TO games as a take ON games. The movie had nothing, in a literal sense, to do with games, and although their terminology was reminiscent of video games, the themes and and messages were altogether different. Although, there are plenty of connections to be made to be sure.
I went to Fanime with a few friends, but was stuck with my ex (she was the one who broke up with me) in the same hotel room for three days and I was in the middle of being very very pissed off at her (we had been arguing on and off for the past month, and she was driving me up the wall), but I didn't want to back out…
@Brodka: regrettably: There are three very big things working for Blizzard here: hype, nostalgia, Blizzard-ness.
@Zack1e: When it's just about the only thing I eat, yes. Otherwise, it is cheap deliciousness.
Wait wait wait, so this has everything Legendary does, minus the statue? Shit, this might be for me. I ponied up for a Spartan Helmet, but dioramas of people I don't know? Psh... I'm living off of rice over here.
