Don’t forget the Advil. Suspension retainer bolts tend to be big, hairy and rusty. You’ll be pulling really hard on them and they’re frequently not accessible by air or electric tools.
Make sure to check the instructions! Sometimes these bushings require the removal of the metal sleeve, and sometimes the bushings are sized to fit INSIDE the metal sleeve!
That was really an excellent article that was linked to. I agree that more needs to be spent in pursuit of better passenger rail in the States. Flying has become like taking a sky-bound Greyhound bus (only faster and much more expensive), so taking a train is the last bastion of comfortable travel. The problem is that…
Just for funsies, I looked at the possibility of taking the train cross country (from Detroit to Seattle). For a family of four, to sit in a train for 6 days, would cost $950. That’s just the seat. If we wanted to have one of those cool family rooms? $5000. FIVE THOUSAND DOLLARS.
Yes, I’d love high speed rail in some corner of the US (NYC resident here so Northeast would be good) but this is what I really miss: http://www.nytimes.com/1993/09/12/tra… Sure the flight is less than an hour but when you factor in the cost of a hotel room and possible weather delays, surely Amtrak could make a plan…
“You’re all guilty!”
Sometimes it’s not, though. There’s a different, oil-and-crappy-automotive-fluids-absorbing substance that has more of the consistency of powdered sugar. You use a lot less of that stuff, but it’s probably pricier than kitty litter. Everyone was talking about “oil dry,” so who knows if it was the purpose-made…
Airplanes are often less than half the price and travel time compared to trains. I don’t know who in their right mind would chose the slight convince of skipping security/airport transfer over the hundreds of dollars and several hours saved with air travel.
It is a vehicle primarily meant to be used to drive to the office and to the mall. Why would it need that?
It is a jacked up luxury car, of course it is expensive.
It's amazing how that $40,000 limit sort of hovers over the entire comparison, which beautifully illustrates the point that TRUCKS ARE REALLY DAMN EXPENSIVE. Wow.
So if I have 40K to spend I buy a used truck and a trailer and racecar? Is that the moral of the story?
why was he standing out there anyways? NASCAR has a rule where pit crews must stay behind the wall til the car is in their pit stall.
I have worked at a gokarting track. When I see how people deal with 9hp gokarts, I don’t even want to start imagining those same people at the wheel of a 500hp+ supercar with me on the passenger seat.
Vettel smirks: "Sure I didn't win, but I still have a front row seat for this clown show."
I have to disagree, the real battle was the marshals trying to get Verstappen's car off the track and into the pits. I also thoroughly enjoyed that part.
That is a very simplified version of the law and a bit vaguely "translated" to layman's terms.
