I’m kind of ready for this aesthetic to be called out for how problematic it is. I’d like to find a horizon where this kind of exploitation in the “horny Japanese” aesthetic is left behind. The older I get the more it looks like the sexualization of underage women.
Uh. Uber Eats and Skip The Dishes (possibly a Canada only equivalent) consistently charge more for the same items. Unless desperate I call the restaurant and order for pickup, or for their own delivery drivers, to avoid this upcharge.

A context that could have been added here is the de-sexification of hollywood. After a raucously filthy decade in the 80s which lingered into the 90s, the 2000s and 2010s were uneven but now in the twenties it is clear that studios want to avoid sex to avoid issues releasing in countries where that is not tolerated.
That kind of attitude, though, reeks of complacency.
