...am I the only one who has never had problems with the traditional method and peeling eggs?

Uh....so maybe do the right thing and don’t use copyrighted terms so blatantly? Like I don’t think people who want this content I going to be dissuaded by some clever naming to work around what, fairly, is a term that is not his to use?

Surely “hat on head” is an expected use of a bobby pin?

....I don’t get plastic surgery where you come out not even remotely looking like yourself.

I do. Or I try to. I’m really alarmed at the discrepancy between this post and the one on Jez, because the post here seems engineered to go out of its way to avoid actual....content? That, to me, is clearly trying to bury the story.

This questions is inherently problematic. But as this is the internet, I don’t see why that should stop me. Also, Google *and* Wikipedia provided no help.

Yeah I don’t think we just want to throw out that chocolate milk is as healthy as regular milk. That added tablespoon of sugar per cup is...a lot of sugar.

Even if the linked article was academic - which it isn’t - it still leaves room for 25-66% of obese people to have an actual health problem.

Thank you for your candor, Ash.

The passing of Sabine Schmitz has put her contributions to Top Gear on rotation and its such clear evidence for the “maybe give them less money” argument. Gosh, that was a fun era.

I really wish they didn’t bury their reporting as part of their response, I was enjoying the hell out of that.

It appears you kind of avoided 90% of my content just to yell at me again. Hope you’re getting what you need out of this.

With respect, they clearly assert that it is offensive. Not *why* it is offensive. Requesting an explanation isn’t always a subtle attempt to undermine and diminish, you know. Its part of a conversation.

I hate that I’ve frustrated you, but I’ve re-read the entirety again and I still don’t see it. Apologies for being slow and stupid, but I assure you its not a covert weapon I’m deploying in a campaign to aggravate those who “get it”.

The part where she was asked and did not consent remains powerful. And I don’t know the racial makeup of the ....uh....makeup team. But I could genuinely see someone in their position being completely surprised this was an issue, given the other things this production was doing regarding race.

...but did they audition for this? ...was someone available with the required skills to do this job and was denied based on the colour of their skin? This production team doesn’t seem to be a bunch of ignorant rich white people making dumb decisions.

What makes you think I said that?

Why are we so certain that someone who had the right look (age adjusted version of another character) and right skin tone was even available? Why are we so inclined to criticize it from this angle? I mean, I ask that because CLEARLY WE ARE - I’m not trying to undermine this angle, I’m trying to comprehend it.

It seemed clear to me the casting was based on looking like an age-shifted version of another person. Does that change the standards here? To my eyes the skin tones are not radically different, but they are different.

I found images through Google of the character and the actor. Yes, it is darker. Does it covey a different racial identity? Welp, it sure doesn’t to me - but this comment thread exists because I have no idea what the hell is going on here.
