I really wasn’t feeling this episode very much - so many plot elements are built out on wafer thing premises and left to swing in the breeze (surely if it was that easy, assholes would be doing this all the time?).

One of those is the contrivance of the climax which is supported by matchsticks, and then...the lecture.

It seems excessively generous to describe this as a call-back.

Good thing the quality of a game isn’t improved by playing it sooner.

I feel you. I get that my whining is difficult to read and functionally neutered. But, my information is a bit stale (a few years off my last gig now) and I’m not going to risk going on the record, even anonymously.

Jason this is such bullshit.

I know, right! Now I only got on board for “nuwho”, but I’ve pretty much loved every single thing since the first episode of that.

Being a father of young kids my enjoyment of episode 1 was curtailed at the 15 minute mark, and I have yet to go back.

But there were some surprisingly annoying things in those first fifteen minutes.

I don’t know if its the scariest movie of any time period, but it is
- really accessible
- really compelling
- really novel
and as such I also really liked it. It is an excellent recommendation for the average person looking for some spookyness.
