I was not nearly as impressed by the Fallout stunts as you. It struck me as perfectly fine - no, very good, even very very good - but I came out of the film with a feeling of disappointment as the build up wasn’t satisfied. That was a great action movie, sure, but I was not unduly impressed by any of it. Maybe this is

she couldn’t enjoy Breaking Bad because the premise is just “white people being miserable”

Typo report!

Let me tell you a story about other day care parents who think 4 year olds watching wrestling is just fine... :-D

So....maybe remove Kim K etc. from your life? And thus, mostly, from hers?

My wife and I are both quite obese, and we do talk about fatness openly and candidly in the family, but neither of my under-6 crowd as once made a self-value body judgement (yet).

I don’t see how that (agree on) assertion interacts with my previous comment.

I wonder if the WiiU made or lost money. That is a comparatively tiny number, but the hardware was highly derivative, and its not a very small number either.

I would assume both games have a functioning, transparent, “phone home” feature buried in their code. It’s 2018 for crying out loud.

This is the first Nintendo console I’ve not purchased day 1, because I have kids and barely have time for my PS4 (seriously, Bridge Crew, played it ONCE - so good BTW). Point is I would always put the Nintendo console first because the quality is vastly better than the competition. Unless you need to feed a nightly

“Please go get security to remove me from the plane, because if we take it to that level *we* get to be on CNN and that sounds like fun”.

I’m really not sure about this.

While my kids were watching My Little Pony : Friendship is Magic a tiny little alert appeared that it would be leaving Netflix sometime in August. Now, I’m Canadian, so that list might be different, but I thought it was worth mentioning what with the enthusiasm some groups have for that show.

There seems to be a lot of projecting of personal opinions on sex here, and treating them as universal truths worthy of criticism. I’m not sure thats entirely legitimate.

99 Percent Invisible did a great podcast on walkers rights. It is definitely worth a listen as a primer on how the American desire for total private land contradicts a legacy of European tradition (relevant as NZ is heavily colonial it’s governmental style)

Not to mention, if you need to have a little more than your shoe budget can compensate for, IKEA has a wide array of affordable and well made items in this line

Is this a good show? The concept sounds so insufferable, and the antithesis of what I want from comedians. Look! Rich people with cars that exceed my lifetime annual income patting themselves on their backs! Ugh.

I’m struggling a little bit to unpack all the various components here, but I will throw out two thoughts for people to consider:

That said, nobody needs video. Our third child is now three and I’ve had a lot of samples from other parents and community group members that have demonstrated clearly to me that video monitoring is, simply put, fucking nuts.

the podcast 99% Invisible has an episode on this subject that predates Trump and is wonderful.
