Am I misremembering Eyes Wide Shut? I don’t get the comparison (watched with sound off)

This has been said elsewhere, but I’m really not at all comfortable with returning Mel Gibson to working status in Hollywood. He needs to retire and disappear.

Nowhere does the desire of WB and DC to have a universe feel more unearned than in the lack of standalone features leading up to films like this, and to a lesser degree Suicide Squad. I’ve been nursing along my Harmony 880 remotes (basically pre-logitech models, circa 2004) for a long long time now because their new models are drenched in bullshit. Shame this space wasn’t worth having a competitor in.
