jesus christ you're delusional.
jesus christ you're delusional.
"But how expensive is it computationally to draw that and how large are the files?"
1. It loads slowly over the Internet. As for textures being all over the place - so what? If the lidar is conferring textures to voxels by way of vertex colirs, they wouldn't be able to "open a texture" AT ALL.
yeah and there are tons of scams that were called scams that actually WERE scams.
you can already do that without voxels....
it's not the future.
and evan... wtf dude. with stuff like http://www.pcgamer.com/2014/03/27/the… that runs in a fucking browser right now... how can you say "looks too good to be true"?
it's not new. voxels are old.
have you ever heard of command and conquer red alert? or outcast?
and why doesn't he just say "VOXELS"?!?! that's what they are... and they're not new... they're OLD!!! very very OLD!
lol... is he serious? in the second video he thinks it's a SURPRISE that we were looking at computer graphics?
nothing really that impressive here... it's just a 3d scanned region with textures taken at the same time and then projected onto voxels... you could do the same thing with polys and this is more a demo of the scanner than anything else.
the huge distances thing is wrong... at least according to physics and weapons systems we have now.
i'm soooooo glad that valve decided to change the controller. it NEEDS the thumb stick on the left. personally, the 4 buttons on left should be a d-pad too... the innovation was touch pad for the right thumb. that will be great for FPSs... mouse will still be king but i would wager that right touchpad will be…
the biggest and coolest thing about space combat will be how constrained resources will be: air to breathe, propellant for thrust, batteries for electricity... for one man "fighter" kinda ships, i can't imagine they would be very useful at all unless they fly into the battle volume with drop tanks and then have…
