I’m sorry but that’s not what’s happening here. He just has his slipper clutch adjusted so that there is a lot of “slip” aka almost zero engine braking. Many racers prefer this - if you watch old footage of Miguel Duhamel when he rode for Honda, you’ll see he has zero engine braking.
Modern driving gloves are like that. Padding keeps your hands from blistering. Plus they’re fire proof... in case he drives a Ferrari later.
