I love how all these points are about the cosmetics, the male characters, the little touches and stuff and not about the story or about the female characters. Because having finished the story it’s shi*t, it actually made me mad and undermined the goodwill I had towards the narrative in the first 20 hours or so of

I’m flabbergasted by the continued enthusiasm for the eikons. They’re so endlessly dull. They start out as QTEs, then evolve into a version of regular combat (a flatter, easier version), then reach the game’s absolute pinnacle with the (SPOILERS) Typhon fight, where the designers actually seem to be having fun for once

That sounds bearable. (No pun intended.)

I think G Gundam often gets a pass, because people remember the handful of fun moments and forget the bulk of it that’s mind numbingly dull.

One of the fundamental principles of every Gundam show has been that even those that have done the unforgivable are deserving of grace. That the horrors cannot be undone, but to retaliate against cruelty with more cruelty does not fix anything. That’s emptiness at the end of every Gundam series and why I love these

It was really interesting how Suletta and Miorine BOTH managed to bring the conflict to a resolution through a non-violent action, too. Miorine dissolves the company and sells it to groups on Earth so that the SLA has no entity to target anymore and Suletta just.. DELETES all the machines in a way that’s a little bit

I had the privilege of watching it in person

Another dog shit ironically unenjoyable cash-in tears up the twitch charts for its fifteen minutes. Everything about this absolutely screams asset flip and scam, and scrupleless influencers of course eat it up hand over fist. You could lead the entire body of twitch streamers off a cliff if you told them it was

i’m having fun with the game and all but anyone complaining this isn’t final fantasy is correct

if the next CoD came out as a Dynasty Warriors style hack ‘n slash, CoD fans would be rightfully upset

i personally don’t mind the shift in gameplay style, but i get why people may not enjoy that. and it’s not just that “the

A 20 paragraph opinion peice on why people should not have opinions on a beloved 35 year old series.

I am way less annoyed by FFXVI becoming an action game than I am about so many people asserting that Final Fantasy games have always been about reinvention. Maybe that’s true in terms of setting & narrative (and I would argue you’d have to really stretch the idea of what narrative “reinvention” means in an anthology

I think the fact that we’re even having this conversion (again) is proof of a failure. I think one of the things that causes problems is that so many people think of Final Fantasy in terms of story rather than gameplay. But if Final Fantasy is all about the narrative, then why does Final Fantasy V rate so high on

We all spend a lot of time arguing about what makes a Final Fantasy game, as if the series didn’t immediately establish right out the gate that it was about reinvention and not being beholden to a specific framework.

At what point did changing genre = innovation? Maybe next we should try innovating Halo by making it a kart racer!

Yeah, I tend to get my traditional RPG and Turn based combat from other franchises these days. Persona,  Legend of Heroes, and  Tales Games all prove that simply expanding on your combat system and refining it each entry to feel fresh is just as viable a method vs. turning your back on the old and fully embracing

It’s really weird that FF XVI would have such a homogeneous cast when their previous entries were so loaded with cultural diversity and representation.

The junction system is fine. People are just really bad at knowing how to get magic quickly to use with it, and are bad at knowing what to do with it. Usually because they skipped the tutorial.

FF8 had the best world building of any Final Fantasy, because it’s (probably) the only one that ever dared to be subtle: the party doesn’t throw a tantrum when they learn what the price of their magic is, they rarely feel the need to hammer on how messed up the world is, you actually get paid instead of relying on

She literally said that herself. She acknowledged “living your morals” is a privilege, and she doesn’t begrudge small streamers getting their bag. But xQc, Amo, and her are all multimillionaires. All of them can afford to not take the money of an obvious front for a shady gambling scheme. That’s exactly her point.

Yea. I’m good. Just dont feel like playing DMC the on-rails rpg.
