Nintendo seems like a company where the left arm has no idea what the right arm is doing. As if the marketing team is unaware, or unable, to influence the legal team on this decision — something that turns free publicity that you can’t buy into bad publicity that you should never want. The success of Smash is contingen…
I’d look to RDR2 for inspiration if I were making an open-world game today.
“Fine, here’s 10 years of Call of Duty, whatever. Can we please speed this up so we can make Candy Crush dispense actual crack every time you play? Please? Our shareholders are getting agitated.”
This is the most verbose, well-though-out, and obnoxious example of blaming the victim I’ve ever seen. Bravo.
Sony adds that Battlefield’s latest entry—the comparable miss of 2042—sold “just” 88.7 million copies, compared to CoD’s 400 million.
“Fans have asked for EVEN MORE deaths”
Fans of what? The game’s not out yet. The only thing to be a ‘fan’ of is their marketing. And how can said fans ask for MORE DEATHS in a game that they haven’t played? How do they know the current number of deaths? How do they know the quality of deaths in order to have found them…

Considering the long and troubled development cycle as well as the fact that this game’s release doesn’t seem to be a critical or commercial success as far as I can tell, I’m not holding my breath that we’ll ever get another Bayonetta. (or, at the very least, that Nintendo will fund it)
Copyright does not work that way. You dont have to do anything to copyright your work. As soon as it is created it is copyrighted by default. It's not like a trademark or patent where you have to file to get it.
claiming to know whats in the minds of those who hate it (while using literally XD ), and then moving on to gate keeping who gets to monetize a technology’s output?
‘Kotaku complaining is tiring but people using AI are nothings’ uhm ya OK
This is from 2001 his career was pretty much near his peak. And while he’s definitely on the downside of that peak now, I wouldn’t say he’s washed up either.
