It was a fun joke. And now somebody is going to waste their time or their money. Can’t jokes just be... jokes?

Ah yes, gacha games. Gambling aimed at children.
The inherent goofiness of the game in questions does nothing to negate this particular criticism.
It’s not “odd”.
I actually really despise how the gaming community treats release dates, and a particular segment of the gaming community has all hell break loose anytime dates are missed or there are constantly delays.
Except that’s not what the case is about at all.
It makes me uncomfortable that the only competitors in the mobile gaming sector are Nintendo.... and phones.
While this is true, I’ll never shy away from reading According to Bloomberg a Schreier report
I agree, I definitely think that the shittiness of the game is overstated. In practice I think the game as is, if tomorrow it was announced that absolutely nothing else would ever be done to it, would be considered a bit content-light but overall pretty good and a promising direction.
If ‘manipulation’ is the precedent for ‘grooming’ then every woman I’ve ever met has groomed me.

A “community” that in part seems to depend on software behavior the game developers didn’t intend to begin with, let alone sign up to commit to having to consider when making…
That’s the general sense among the Halo Infinite community: that 343 Industries is implementing changes based on what they think is best, not on what the most devoted players want.
“However, as a technology, just like how when cloud servers first started, it doesn’t do anything that monolithic servers can’t already do. But as the time goes on and the companies decided it’s cheaper to outsource servers to be on the cloud, it is now the backbone of most of the technology.”
Ah, yes the golden age of piracy is well known for bands of scrappy sea dogs gathering lumber and stone so they could return to their port of call and commission the construction of a larger, more capable vessel. That’s why they called them pirates, you see, because they lived off of the sea, whose natural bounty…
