I think they were giving a ballpark figure by rounding it up, gives people a better idea. Putting in a dollar short is a marketing tactic, Giz is if anything giving the cold, hard truth.

Just because as a designer and videographer, editing video/graphic files which are stored on an SSD makes life so much quicker. SSD's are the future, let's hope their price isn't.

Since when does Apple ever raise their prices on an annual refresh? The Macbook Pro has stayed a consistent price over the last few years, it's even dropped a couple hundred dollars.

I'm saving myself for the 17-inch, abstinence and all. I get that there have been speculations that the 17" is to be dropped because it receives an incredibly small amount of sales as opposed to the other sizes, but I refuse this to be true.
