The PS3 is greatly outselling the 360 every month, so the only console that stands any chance of being the next PS2 is the PS3... But, yeah, I doubt the PS3 will ever sell that many units. lol Still, it will sell more than the 360 did, so there is a success story there.
Higher software attach rate, yes... But a company makes much more money off of said software if it is first-party. The Wii's lower attach rate was made up almost entirely of games they completely owned. And those games sold ridiculously well.
They also sold every unit at profit without exception, never had to deal with…
The PS3 definitely outpowers the 360, but the 360 is easier to work with.
From an IGN article a while ago. Go look it up and just about every site will say the same: IGN HARDWARE THROWDOWN
It's interesting to note, that a fair bunch of Xbox games claim to be 1080p on their boxes, but they really aren't.
From the last official numbers I have
Funny reading through this thread how people keep pointing out how much BETTER Sony's AAA exclusives look compared to Microsoft's. It's right there, on the screen, Doc. The PS3 is the more powerful console (and, in my opinion has FAR better games) with the best looking games. As many people have pointed out, the PS3…
Where is your source that the 360 made the most money?
If you think the 360 was the "most powerful" this gen, I've got a bridge to sell ya, Doc. Also, since when has "it made the most money" been how we decide how things "won"? It seems to me it's always been units sold and the PS3 wins that one, once again even with the 360's head start.
"Then again, the 360 was the most powerful console last generation, and it made the most money of all three consoles, so it won this past generation."
Ummm, no. Profit on a console doesn't win you a console war. All console wars have been judged by sales/marketshare in which case the 360 came out in last place.
Open worlds have less to do with power, and more to do with how the CPU and GPU are processing the info, and like I said, the 360 does preform better in some situations and worse in others. Even the Wii U preforms better then the PS3 and 360 in some situations. As for the bugs, that is due to the hard, and tedious…
You would be right if PS3 exclusives didn't prove you are completely wrong. The only reason "MUILPTIPLATS" looked better was because of the difficulty of programing for the ps3 and that was at the beginning of the generation there isn't much of a difference now, as for exclusives 360 games aren't even in the same…
I do not understand. The PS3 had Metal Gear Solid 4, the 360 did not. What did the 360 win? The first price for the console without MGS?
Depends on the port really.
If you check Digital Foundry for their tech analysis on games sometimes multiplatfporm games will get a nod in favour of PS3. Most of the times not, since PS3 was(still is) a pain to program for.
Only really taken advantage of by first party devs who are willing to take the time to…
This doesn't make sense to me, I've been playing Xbox recently (cause of the free games). This may only be the one game but holy shit, Dead Rising 2 has some horrific frame rates at times, yet never had any issues on PS3 version nor PC.
Then again, the 360 was the most powerful console last generation, and it made the most money of all three consoles, so it won this past generation.
That's what I was thinking too, that she was the basis of Octo camo.
