This is not a wagon. If this is a wagon then every hatchback ever made is a wagon.

But then you're a Crosstour owner, and that's not cool, yo.

Fixed that for ya.

They may have value, and they may be good cars, but what this car signifies to me is that we have lost the desire for anything "car," and it makes me sad.

I agree - the very first thing that defines a wagon is the shape, and crosstour does not have the shape. Outback is way more of a wagon than the Honda. I still remember spy shots of the crosstour - it was build on euro model accord wagon (our TSX), just lifted, and I knew that would be my next car. Then it came

Here's my problem. It's not a wagon. Wagons aren't lifted like the Crosstour or various Subaru options. It it a crossover, it just happens to be more car shaped than SUV shaped.

I can't get behind this. The Crosstour/ZDX, BMW's GT/X4/X6... these are not wagons. They are hatchbacks. Wagons do not integrate the liftgate into their roofline, because that is a waste of space that could be used for carrying tall items.

Yeah I disagree with you there too. I admit I know next to nothing about either this or the Subaru; just from exterior dimensions it would seem the Subi has more room and I'm guessing more off road chops.

Neither car is a wagon, but the Outback is definitely waaaay more of a wagon than this horrid abomination.

The CTS Sport Wagon is still on sale, makes considerably more power than the Honda, comes with AWD, and is worth the $7,000 more for not being hideous.

Hatchback, not wagon.

Jesus Christ Tom. This is one of the ugliest, most retarded vehicles on the road, ever.

Hard springs don't make a wagon. The Outback is a wagon, no matter what marketers say. It's a long roof version of an existing sedan, one of the telltale signs of a wagon.

So an Outback is not a wagon but a Crosstour is? You got it all backwards.

This it not a wagon.

It is. Hatchback or liftback, not a wagon.

you've obviously never lived in the south or in a rural area. While I will agree that most do carry "excuses" some jobs require transportation or atleast a clean suit. You're welcome to try walking in 110degree heat with a suit but nobody wins at that game. There is a parallel but compassion and not knowing everyone

There's some straight up heartless bastards here on Jalopnik. You have to provide for your family, you're poor so you have to get a job, you have to have a car to get a job (at least anywhere not densely populated enough to support public transit, so you have to fall victim to predatory lenders who know your
