Painted on dealer tags? I’ve never heard of that one - can’t be cheap to do either.

As you say, all it will take is a geo-political crisis (or a storm or terrorist attack for that matter) to upset things. Further, I have a hard time thinking that OPEC isn’t going to ratchet things back up soon - but I suppose you would know that better than I. Me, I have zero faith that I won’t be paying the

I think you are basing your numbers for cost and staff off of the current dealership model. I don’t see Tesla going that route, even with franchises simply because they don’t have the product or manufacturing ability to support that, nor is there the consumer base to demand it, even with a $30k car available. Allowing

Ah the optimism. My wallet hopes you are right. But I can’t think that this trend is going to go on much longer, let alone until 2017. Somebody is going to blow something up, spill something, break something or a storm is going to come through and up the prices will go.

Good bye FCA. The only brand you have of any value that anyone will want to take off your hands will be Jeep. This is so going to bite them in the ass when fuel prices skyrocket in the summer.

My hope is that this is just an end-run around the rules, that Musk is quietly starting a dealership company that is detached from Tesla, but that will only sell Teslas and have exclusive rights to the brand, there by blocking the traditional dealers from getting their dirty hands on things.

The sedan isn’t dead, though it may transform in design to be (or mimic) a fast-back hatch. One only has to look at the new Civic to see this. Further, CUVs still have crap fuel economy numbers - they’re good for CUVs, but compared to an sedan still suck. A Camry 4cyl far out performs all of Toyota’s CUV line up. Even

...or not. It is the art world, sometimes you need to be direct so there isn’t any room for ‘interpretation’.

Except their friends (real life/online followers)? The need for validation by others that you are happy/successful/interesting seems pretty important now more than ever. It’s basically what social media trades off of (and is worth billions because of).

Sadly, your toothbrush probably still has poop on it, if the Mythbuster’s experiment is any indication.

I suppose that might be the case. Just something that always struck me as kind of odd - though you can fit more showers in a space if they are open/gang style too. Do women actually take the time in a public shower to shave their legs though? As for periods, that is a good reason that hadn’t crossed my mind.

No, the gender-separation can be something of a deterrent (assuming the door is open to the public view) as seeing a guy go into a women’s restroom has the possibility of raising someone’s suspicion and thus investigating. With a gender-mix washroom, no one is going to think twice about who goes in there. I think (and

That mom has some serious issues if she is bringing her 12-year-old son into the washroom with her (assuming the kid doesn’t have some form of mental/physical incapacity). 6 and under I could perhaps understand, but any older and I think there are some issues.

Simple answer - people in your immediate work area know you’ve gone to the washroom, and if you think/know your trip is going to result in something nasty, you don’t want your co-workers who you see every day to have to experience that if someone should come in during/after you’re there. People on another floor, don’t

I’ve never understood the point of the second lid on a toilet seat in a house, and I work in the house design industry. Yet pretty much all residential toilet seats have the extra lid. That lid pretty much permanently stays up in my house....

Well, technically if a guy is grossed out about touching the seat, he can still lift it up by his foot.... but then conversely he can do the same putting it down too.

I think for smaller spaces the uptick of universal washrooms will become the norm. A restaurant I go to on occasion have 3 individual washrooms (ie: 1 toilet and sink per room) and all are universal. It works because each is single occupant so the concerns of privacy are mitigated. Not practical on a grander scale,

I suppose maybe the issue though is trans-men using men’s washrooms? Perhaps I’m projecting an irrational idea, but I could see there being a fear that a trans-man might have of being harassed using a men’s washroom (or maybe not?). Or that pre-op (or those that aren’t interested in gender reassignment surgery) may

Out of curiosity, which gender washroom did you find worse? I worked a couple summers at a golf course, part of the job being to maintain the washrooms. Given the ratio of men to women using the club was 3/1, the men’s washroom was still easier/quicker to clean up than the women’s, which typically had toilet paper

I think the aspect of open showers would pretty much disappear in a universal washroom situation anyway. Frankly I’m kind of surprised they exist at all still, though I have worked on projects in the last few years where the men’s locker room showers were open “gang” showers. Any showers for a women’s locker room
