I figured it was apparent I don’t understand the CUV craze. The people in your Camp 1 example I can kind of understand, it is the Camp 2 people I shake my head at. Regarding fuel economy, CUVs are still crap compared to cars, as this comparison shows (http://www.fueleconomy.gov/feg/Find.do?ac… ) unless you go to a

The CUV is the Sporknife of the automotive world - an implement that can do multiple things, but none of them at all well. It can’t handle well like a car, it can’t go off-road well like an SUV, and it can’t carry lots of people and/or things as well as a minivan. But people today want to be able to do ‘anything’ in

More so than Lady Gaga being on AHS? I’m not a fan of Lea or AHS in particular, but when I saw she was cast I couldn’t help the thought “what were they thinking” coming to mind....

Drove a ND MX-5 back to back with an NC at a Mazda-sponsored event on a short road-course in a parking lot. There was a noticeable difference in feel and weight to the systems between them. The NC was generally heavier in feel, but also was (IMO) slightly more communicative. When I slowed down to do a tight turn in

1970’s Monte Carlos had a swivel bucket seat option as well.

Yes, I love road-trips. But as much as I love cars, after being in one for 10 or so hours, I want to get out whether I’m driving or as a passenger. I’ve never understood the attraction to doing a 2000+mile trip in one shot, stopping only for gas and pee-breaks. I know people who drive from north of Toronto to Tampa in

Like pizza, it would have to be a pretty terrible manual for me not to like it and want an automatic.

Murano CrossCabriolets have off-roading chops?? Assuming you actually own one of these, where were you taking it off-road? Personally if I want a comfortable car that has top-down ability and some AWD, there are other cars to choose from. Not going off-roading in them, but I wouldn’t trust a Murano far off a beaten

No kidding. I could never understand why wedding dresses were almost* never rented like men’s tux’s are. I asked once, and after the glares/WTF kind of question is that looks subsided, was told they were kept for sentimental reasons. Except now there are ‘trash-the-dress’ things, so now a woman can spend thousands on

Perhaps it is another Top Gear resale.....

I like Wranglers. Yeah, there is the image thing with them, but I’d take one because I’d actually off-road it, take the doors off and it is unabashedly not modern. The Murano doesn’t compete with the Wrangler other than both are convertibles and in that respect then it competes with a Boxter Spyder. The Murano CC does

Well, his dogs would be homeless now. But yeah, so?

Well, I owned a ‘01 Z24 coupe, 5MT and it was the most reliable car I’ve owned, including my current ‘06 Mazda6GT. Not saying it was better than the Mazda, but I’ve spent more on repairs in 3 years to it than I ever did in 10 years of owning the Z24.

I’d rather drive the 1983 Scooter than a PT, while wearing work-boots that can get caught behind the brake pedal (scary moment...).

If I had it to do over though I’d buy an automatic. something else.

You speak blasphemy. And a WRX with anything other than a manual is an unforgivable sin. Begone you evilsayer of things.

What is this “Taking over driving on long trips” you speak of? When it gets to the point that I’m tired of driving then it’s time to get off the road. Then again I’ve never done the “let’s drive 2000+ miles in one shot” kind of thing. If you’re in that big of a hurry to get somewhere far, then take a plane, I’ll see

Pretty much any current generation Nissan or Toyota. The Scion FRS might get a pass only because it really is a Subaru with Scion badges. The rest, no thanks.

Wouldn’t automatic towing be the better solution? A booted car could just sit there forever taking up space because the owner can’t/won’t pay the fine as they rarely use their car. Towing opens up the space at least....

Okay, the last one isn’t real....
