The irony is that the uncivilized places that she dismissed have plenty of indie coffee shops and craft beers. Nearly every small town in NM and AZ I’ve travelled to for field work has either a local coffee shop hangout or a brewery :)

I don't think she was being snarky. NM has historically been very lax on abortion laws/restrictions. It was one of the only non-costal states to have it legalized before Roe v. Wade, has had state (Medicaid) funded abortion from the get go and has defeated every outside attempt to interfere (until now).

Wow, Valley is my neighborhood high school and the high school my daughter would be going to if she wasn't in a charter.
