Not sure what you’re thinking here. Maranellos have seen some of the fastest appreciation on the Ferrari market recently as they approach that psychologically important twenty-year mark. Used to be that a number of good ones were continuously available in the $80k range; now well-kept examples are double that, unless

1. Because it is fun.

A highlight of the boring-ass drive from Chicago to St. Louis, especially that stretch from Springfield to St. Louis, is driving past there and seeing what was out front.

Ooops. My comment wasn’t very clear at all. I was referring to your aging Focus comment. The 2015+ Focus is substantial improvement, even though visually its not much different. And yes, I fully agree with your assessment re GMs small cars. And especially their RS trim....

I was just thinking about how easy it would be, had I the means, to drive down to Lamborghini Dallas, cut them a big check, and drive off with a dream car.

id buy an f40 in a heartbeat. maybe the new superfast because of the absurd name and 800hp NA v12. and of course an f355 manual if i wanted to go broke. but they are a pretty awful company.

I think you have to start at the bottom and buy a California first before even getting to buy a 488.

Amen to this. Once I found out about the absurd hoops you have to jump through to be “allowed” to place an order and the generally condescending attitude of the company in general I said “F these guys, I’ll never own one” and turned my eyes towards Lamborghini, McLaren and Aston instead.

They’re miserable. My friend has had 9 Ferraris and around 2005-6 made it to the end of the waiting list for the 575 Superamerica. Last minute they decided “nah, we’re giving it to someone else.” By sundown that day he had a new Murcielago in the garage.

Why the hell are people so obsessed with these cars when there are so many options out there now that are better cars at better prices? I understand they’re beautiful, but they’re also impossible to drive on a daily basis, their performance numbers are no longer superior to those of competitors, and the company is

Amazing how quality doesn’t coincide with reliability.

The fact that if you want one in black seeps preposterous to them is reason enough for me to tell them to eat a fat one.

I would respectfully disagree. Audi supervises the materials and assembly process at the beginning of each new model creation. The interior quality is VERY good now days. Ferrari is good as well... but many “small auto maker” quality issues continue to arise with Ferrari

Isn’t this why Lamborghini builds cars? Because Ferrari is run by a bunch of assholes?

Somehow every time I read a Ferrari article, I come out the other side thinking “fuck Ferrari.”

I work at GM and I am still going to buy GTI instead of taking the corporate discount. I don’t know what you’re smoking but keep it away from me.

I think that’s his way of telling us he’s not that smart.

Here’s the other way it works.
