Nissan. By far. Every single one (except GT-R) is an overwrought mess.
Exactly. Go price 4Runners and take another look at this one. It's not perfect, but $8K is not a lot for it.
I agree on some of these points, the California and the F50 for sure, the 458 has never pushed my buttons the right way and the 430 never appealed to me when the Murcielago just kept getting better and better looking.
But you will never, ever convince me that the 360 Challenge Stradale is not a pretty car.
So if I’m tired of the Back to the Future stuff....I should just log off the internet for the day, right?
I’d prefer the 22re, even though I hate those motors and their stupid timing chain cover. With an upgraded head and cam, they’re pretty decent.
The other parts? They’re so dependable, Toyota was still using them 3 generations later.
I actually think this is a decent price for a nice-looking build. I just wouldn’t feel right buying it and then bringing it here to the darkest heart of the rust belt. So NP, but not for me.
Replace the 1.7L blower with the 2.3L blower, is one running theory because, while we all appreciate the detailed back-story, this sure as heck ain’t the only car suffering heat-soak issues.
But how good was it to actually drive when it was malfunctioning like that? Because no matter how good the numbers are, I can't see it being anything but frustrating to be driving something that isn't functioning as designed.
It doesn’t have to have a 7.0L. Frankly, I wouldn’t care if they went in the other direction and added overhead cams.
Your last paragraph is essentially what I came here to say: This wouldn’t have happened with a naturally aspirated engine, and that’s one of the reasons so many track-day drivers prefer NA.
I don’t know how GM can fuck up such an important marketing thing. It is sad.
“The truth is this is still my number-one most loathed exterior design of all current-year production cars.”
Push it off a cliff.
BMW: “What’s an ATS-V?”
I voted NP, just because of the rarity. I know it’s not fast, or a great handler, but I love it all the same. It’s an odd duck, and I like odd ducks. People have done some interesting things with them as well.
Actually, the LS is good only because it’s physical size and weight are good relative to the engine displacement you can achieve.
I believe its called “The Final Countdown” edition in Europe...
+100 on the Crown Vic Police Interceptor. While there are many Jalops who salivate at the idea of a cheap ex-cop car (no doubt with Elwood Blues’ voice echoing inside their heads: “Cop motor, cop brakes, cop shocks . . . “), the Vicky is a slow and overweight turd. And furthermore, ex-cop Vics are mostly purchased by…
Why is Jalopnik still allowing this guy to troll us? Every one of his posts is about what an amazing deal some used supercar is compared to new car X. And the answer is always the same, Every. Single. Time: 1) A new car has a WARRANTY, and 2) A new car is NEW. People pay big premiums for new cars precisely because…
