Other than pure numbers, I don’t really see anything of note here. They dropped their signature N/A V12 for the boosted V8 that can be had in their entry level cars, paired it a hybrid setup again, and are building it super low numbers at an absurd price. Not sure how this advances the game in any meaningful way.
I’m sure it will drive spectacularly, as all the other recent McLarens do, but I just cannot get on board with the looks. Especially the front. Think I’d opt for an R8, or if it had to be a McLaren, I’d take the much, much prettier 570GT.
Love almost everything about these cars, but I just can’t get over the size. Sadly. They are becoming great buys on the used market right now, and I recently revisited one to see if my stance on it’s dimensions had changed. They hadn’t.
I was really pretty indifferent on this car up to this point, preferring to wait until driving it, or at least seeing one in person, before passing judgement.
I love these trucks. I am on my 3rd Dakota R/T. My first car when I turned 16 was a red 99 single cab R/T. I stuffed it into a tree when I lost control going around a curve too fast in the rain. My punishment was a 99 Cavalier Rally Sport for a while.
I admire the tenacity, but I can’t imagine driving a Gallardo on NYC streets. I’ve driven Gallardos numerous times, and the jerky e-Gear, brittle ride, width, and low ground clearance all conspire to make it more of an aggravating experience than an enjoyable one.
It’s rare that I’m mixing tequila in the first place, as 99% of the time I am sipping it neat. That said, I actually prefer to use complex tequilas, as they stand out. I typically use the aforementioned Pasote, Elvelo blanco, or Altos anejo in my mixed drinks.
Most people aren’t using good tequila, anyway. Squirt is perfectly fine. Besides, you should be using it in such a ratio that it isn’t overwhelming.
You should have so many more stars for this.
I personally up the lime juice and sub elderflower liquer in place of the cointreau/triple sec, but you have the base ingredients and approximate ratio right. Margaritas should be light, crisp, and refreshing.
It’s clear you didn’t take the time to completely read and decipher my entire post. The car has been decontented at the same price point. Meaning, the price hasn’t dropped, but it has lost equipment. Is that so hard to understand.
The Golf has definitely been decontented and lost trims and feature availability. I know, I sold them over 4 model years- 2016-2019.
Lots of other brands with no history in the segment seem to be making business cases for them.....
The Golf is the best car in its segment. Doesn’t change the fact that they aren’t competitive in terms of equipment, pricing, or especially leasing.
They’re not expensive, but compared to other economy offerings, they are pricey. And more importantly, they lease like crap and have higher ownership costs.
I know, right?
The Mk7 Golf has steadily had trim reductions and equipment cuts since it’s debut.
This is a stupid decision. The regular Golf doesn’t sell because VW neglects it and has constantly cut content and styling cues from it reducing it to a very bland- and for it’s segment, overpriced- econobox. And they’re never incentivized. Lease rates on them are terrible.
It is. It’s also still 2 years shy of 9.
