This is an incredibly daft and short sighted article. And the author seems to know as much given the next to last paragraph.

I have a great suggestion for NPOCP. How do I do so?
50K?!?!?!?! For a damaged car with no title that has sat unused for the better part of a decade?? What’s the saying about a fool and his money.....
IF it actually goes into our infrastructure- highways, bridges, etc, etc- I’ll be the first in line to support a 50¢ tax increase on gas.
Lol, none of this makes a damn bit of sense.
The two biggest and most recent-
Good suggestion. Actually quite fun little things to toss around.
‘Bout to be a whole piss on VW fest in here....
You just admitted that even racing drivers themselves would prefer auto boxes. Because it allows 2 things- 1) superior performance and 2) the ability to push the vehicle closer to it’s limit.
That’s all great, and if that’s your preference, good for you.
The same can be said for any car. Z06, GT350, Ferrari, etc. What good does a manual do you in your climate controlled garage??
I guess we just have different perceptions of the car, then. I thought even on the street that car felt special. The sound and liveliness of the car alone made it exciting to me. If I owned such a car, I would track it, hands down. And I appreciate what the PDK has to offer for such use.
Zanzibar Red is another favorite of mine.
They probably weren’t using the paddles in the Cayman GT4 because it doesn’t have them. It’s manual only.
It’s not ridiculous at all. If feeling like I am more able to extract the absolute performance ability out of the car is wrong, then I don’t want to be right. If you prefer connection and feel above all else, good for you. I hope you don’t track a car that has electric steering, ABS, or any of those other frivolous…
That is not what I am implying. I am saying that in a PDK car, you have additional mental capacity to focus on things like braking points, the apex, power application, etc. Though GT3's are certainly designed with the track in mind, it can very easily be driven and enjoyed on the street. That is the setting where I…
991.1 C2S....manual all day. Doubly so if the PDK car doesn’t have Sport Chrono.
My personal thoughts on that- if you need a manual in this car for ‘more interaction’, you’re not driving it hard enough.
I recently got to drive our dealer’s 991.1 GT3 RS, and I can absolutely say with 100,000,000% certainty, a manual would have only held the car back. Felt out of place, even. The best car I have ever driven by a comfortable margin, and I didn’t miss a manual one bit. Unless you have experienced the ruthless fury and…
Not disputing that, nor am I saying their response was perfect. But let’s face it, this could have ended much, much differently. It wouldn’t be the first time a situation ended badly. That’s all I’m saying.
