I’ve always wanted a 944. When I had the time, I didn’t have the money. Now I have money, but I don’t have the time.

I’ve ranted about it before, but my B5 passat was handed down to me with the caveat “This car is free because you’ll need to save your money for repairs”.

Not only that, but an internal combustion engine is limited in efficiency because it has to propel itself down the freeway. So weight is an issue — and weight isn’t a concern with fixed power plants.

NiMH were a dream! I had NiCad batteries in my first laptops.

I don’t know if they need one, but it couldn’t have hurt the 1.8T, considering the other mind-boggling design choices they made.

Ugh, what a terrible vehicle. Sure, it’s the cheapest 7 seater available*, but i don’t understand how a car that big can have such a small interior volume.

Just budget $2k per year you want to keep it in service and you’ll be fine.

Same window issues in my ‘99 passat. And they wouldn’t sell replacement clips — nope, you had to buy the whole window regulator.

Yeah.

Hmph. The VW/Audi 1.8T engine was recommended for 10k oil changes on regular oil, with a hot turbo engine, small oil sump, small oil filter and no turbo timer. Needless to say, the engines sludged themselves. Badly.

According to Honda, just don’t let anyone sit in the passenger seat.

If it’s got the AMC straight-six, it will last until the end of time.

Something must be wrong with your keyboard, because it hit Publish before you finished typing XR4Ti.

:(

I’d say that’s too bad, except I think the polarizing looks are why we got such a great price on it.

I got a flex for >20% off MSRP and well below dealer invoice. I get ford x-plan pricing through my employer (half a percent under dealer invoice + $275) and I got them well under that number.

I’m just curious. Why is that?

I was in a similar position last time I was new car shopping, and it came down to the Koreans or a domestic. US manufacturers have stepped up their game and I found Ford more willing to deal on price than Kia or Hyundai.

Is it common for jewish people to dislike ford? I dated an israeli girl in college and she drove an Explorer.

Fuck, I’m so glad I’m a boss. The managers at my level and above don’t give a fuuuuck what you drive as long as you can justify it. (For example - my V6 accord has one of the snappiest, best feeling transmissions I’ve ever driven). The partner I work for usually drives an 80s era jeep.
