He treats his mother with deference and respect. Secretly I think he hates her which clouds and colors all of his interactions with other women. But hey, I'm no psychologist so just my guess.

I think the thing that gets me the most pissed off is that he thinks I'm either completely an idiot or deaf, dumb, blind and stupid.
I.love.this - I swear that a few weeks back I wanted to make a poster of this and plant it on my racist neighbor's lawn!
That's a Richard Avedon photo - he's one of the fashion photographer icons I look up to. And this is an amazing use of one of his images.
Could really use a husband who's a partner instead of a second child. I left before and came back and sometimes it feels like the wrong choice. Spending the evening alone in my room on the internet while he watches tv in the living room. How the hell do you know when it's still okay to work at it or when enough is…
I never imagined how sad it must be for those who've only had the limelight long enough for it to screw any chances of a normal life once their fifteen minutes is up. Ick.
Am I the only one who is getting contact embarrassment for these people?
I know - for some reason they're really upset at anyone who mentions it is. The thing is this, to me anyway, says a lot about where we are racially in this country.
I think she looks gorgeous either way. Though as an aside there's a rather large contention of people on Facebook arguing about whether or not this pic is photoshopped.
Agreed. I kept waiting for a laughter inducing moment. None came. On either video.
Right now I think Felicity Huffman's character is the most compelling. In a world where you'd better not jay walk for fear of one of your neighbors running you over and where calling the cops when someone threatens you isn't done it's nice to see a story line I can relate to.
Well he based that on a lot of different factors. One being my menses began at 14, as did my mother's, my sister's, and my in laws. He based that on the fact that my daughter had the oddest food habits of any child. Give her a choice between a green bean and a cookie she'd take the bean. So at the age of 8 she was…
I actually had to pause the scene where the wife spills the wine on her and walk out for a moment. It was like watching a real life person go down in flames. I can't believe how little respect the movie got!
That is a fire hose on some poor lady's...er...lady bits! I just...words fail me at the moment. Well except those that the pic inspires. "MEN ARE MORONS!"
I made all the guys at the station watch Winter's Bone with me when it first came out on DVD. I love her acting chops - but this girl is proving to have an amazing sense of style as well. Yay for her!
I love Charlize Theron. I watched Young Adult this weekend and her performance was so amazing that I was actually uncomfortable watching some scenes. Her character was too real. I can't think of anytime I've ever said that before about an actress. Keep it up Charlize! Also - I agree. I'm free to work with Mr.…
I watched a documentary called Fresh this weekend and while it confirmed what I already knew it was still an eye opener in so many ways. My daughter began menses at 8 and the endocrinologist explained it was probably due to all of the chicken she loved eating. I switched then and there to organic but the US as a whole…
What...the hell...is that?
The problem isn't that doctors suck. The problem is that when they suck they can kill someone. It's a bit more intense then someone giving you the wrong menu item. Yes, we are all fallible but when you're dealing with human lives it's best not to forget that - that they are human *lives*.
I feel the same about some of my coworkers. They jokingly call me the 'biggest patient care advocate' on our department. We see people at their worst, why not try to make them more comfortable? Why not be kind instead of short tempered. And while I work in emergency medicine, I also have a child with immune compromise…
