I'm wondering if the welds themselves failed, or if the heat effect zone failed in a similar fashion to the initial failure. Powder Coat/Paint -> Bake/Cure -> Fail -> Weld -> Fail? or could it have been again caused by powder coat/paint and the associated baking/curing to hide the repair?

I'd take the 4cyl ecoboost too. Turn it up to 11 and pretend it's group B all over again. That also might require some sort of mid-engine conversion however... Now I think I'm just getting ahead of myself...

I love that front trans-axle setup. Are those front lower coil-over ends common now? I remember something similar on the New Focus RS500, however I'm having difficulty confirming with pictures (It could have also been a fancy knuckle assembly).

Am I the only one who thinks the SLS looks much better than the SLR? I actually quite disliked the SLR aside from maybe the Sterling Moss. So basically they've has taken the things that made the sls a pseudo succesor to the 300sl and gotten rid of them. Makes perfect sense to me.

Sounds like the TSA is going to be in for a surprise.
