Seriously don’t understand why Barsanti gets paid to write such feeble semi-humor. Is it just working cheap and fast? Is it that AV Club chased away all the talent?

The AVClub adheres to dismissive and reductive “hot takes” in order to drive clicks and comments.

so is everyone elses comments fucked up?    Like it says i have messages I try to click and it just sens me to a weird default page.

Since I don’t watch broadcast TV anymore, the Winter Olympics broadcast reminded me that NBC’s Promo Department are still as shitty as they were in the ‘90's during peak Must See TV. Unrelentingly bad and lazy, where they pummel the viewer with quick cuts of NBC-looking crime/drama/comedy coupled with cliched

I’m not sure I can handle an entire series of Morena Baccarin slipping in and out of that bad Russian accent she’s using in the trailer, especially if they’ve got actual Russian speakers with real accents like Costa Ronin on the cast.

It says quite a lot that the screen captures are from Faux News. There are other right-wing disinformation venues out there, but none with the absolute per-capita brainwashing power of Faux News with Tucker-yo Rose and Spawn Hammyface.

WWWAAALLLTTTTTTTTTTTTTTT!

Best. Elvis movie. Ever

Pictured: Elvis sits with his brother Jesse

John Carpenter and Kurt Russell was the best Elvis biopic.

Funny tidbit: Russell was playing a hound dog in The Fox in the Hound at the same time he was making that movie, where he sings Hound Dog.

I’m hoping the movie is calling out the Kennedy assassination because it’s secretly a prequel to Bubba Ho-Tep

plus there’s the elvis docuseries on netflix, which i haven’t finished yet but has been enjoyable thus far.

Jean Lafitte feels like an award-winning prestige show waiting to happen.

Can’t they just get the guy who voiced Bender’s “evil” twin Flexo to do it? He sounded very similar.

The most intermittently useless members of the Super Friends

Even as a kid I noticed that in later seasons their “shape of” requests became pretty ridiculous as they came up with more and more elaborate deus ex machina forms:

Jayna: Form of... a walrus!
Zan: Shape of... an ice nuclear-fission-particle-accelerator!

or the years when Cartoon Network was so desperate for programming that it would regularly re-air Super Friends”

I now have the urge to watch Where the Buffalo Roam.

IIRC, in the early 80s, when the film was more recent, “it just doesn’t matter” was used quite a bit. But yeah, it kind of fell out of fashion, which is disappointing because it was so good.
