Since the damage happened in December, and they only identified the culprit now, he probably had many shifts before being fired.

For once I’d like to read a story on here where half of it isn’t filled with links about all the reasons we should hate someone. Other publications don’t do this.

Please spend a lot of time in space/at the off-world colonies!  That was never really developed in the movies but could be so cool.

You can just say you dont know how an adult discussion works

Yeah what the fuck kind of weird shit is this?

whatabout whatabout

“security guard at Russia’s Yeltsin Center managed to deface a $1 million painting during his first (and only) shift.”

yeah art critics famously don’t know anything about art.

Well, having to interview somebody somewhat intelligent who could eviscerate your usual bullshit is important context.

It’s telling how much more nuanced the AV Club seems on this issue when the proponent of context is actually on the phone with them.

Probably two things were at play here: “Dune” is scifi (and the Academy hates recognizing scifi as legitimate art), and the movie ends so abruptly that it feels unfinished. If the sequel is just as good, he’ll have a much better shot at the Oscar.

is it possible that he isnt against affordable housing ?

Hooray.  Now if only someone would do the same for The AvClub.

And yet, in the other thread about the oscars not requiring proof of vaccine, you’d think the people in the comments were all formally invited from how much they seem to care.

He has a point.

Agree. Let this new version stay semi-stuck in time like all cartoons, but move the timeline forward a bit.

The original run of Futurama is still one of my favorite shows. The movies, overall, are even decent. But the Comedy Central seasons? That is not Futurama. That is a weird, uncanny valley version of Futurama.

I still haven’t recovered from the “Susan Boil” episode. That joke was so awful that it made me create an AV Club account afterwards. I’m terrified that the inevitable COVID joke will make me join Instagram or something.

Well, I’m happy Billy West, Phil LaMarr, Lauren Tom and the rest are getting more work at least, but sorry, I’m never forgiving Revival!Futurama for that Susan Boil episode.
